Types of Sensor Home Security Systems

There are new technologies that are now being used for security at home. Nevertheless, there are still more cases of illegal intruders every now and then. The number of reported cases would be more without the modern security systems, which are practical and affordable. There are a number of sensors that are used for security. This includes;

Passive Infrared sensors
To begin with, these sensors are more affordable and not difficult to install. They have a wide field of view. It is a passive type, which does not radiate its own light, and instead it detects the infrared light radiating from objects. They however have their disadvantage since they cannot determine the exact location of an object and might be set off by a pet. Read more great facts on honeywell wireless transmitter,   click here.

Tomographic Motion Detectors
You have probably not heard of these ones since they are new form of technologies. With mesh networks of radio waves, they are able to detect any movement in an area. They seem more advantageous since you can hide them from view since they do not need to see an area.

Microwave Detectors
More people prefer these ones since they are harmless. They detect motion and they are practically microwave detectors that emit radiation. It can detect motion through walls and around corners but are prone to false alarms. There is a longer range with them, which are about 400 to 1500sq. ft.

Ultrasonic Detectors
Just like bats use echolocation to detect motion, so do these ones. They are more sensitive than microwave and PIRs. They are more suitable for offices and indoor spaces that contain many obstructions. For more useful reference  regarding Alarm Liquidators,  have a peek here.

Photoelectric Beams
This also is motion detectors. Unlike the others, these ones don't have a coverage area. They only trigger a fence, which triggers the alarm if broken. They are more commendable for outside use but as you choose, make sure you settle for the model that sensors that can withstand all weather conditions.

Glass Break Detectors
These home security systems are technically designed for situations where a burglar would decide to break your glass pane. Glass break detectors will be looking for various bands of frequencies that are generated when a glass breaks.

Magnetic Switches
These are also made for windows and doors. They will sound an alarm when someone opens the door or the widow. They have two components where one is attached at the door or window and the other at the frame.  Separation of the two components is what triggers the alarm.
